A Recap of Fall

Seems like yesterday I was talking about the beginning of fall.. Time flies, doesn't it? Anyway, as I like to do this every time the season changes, here we go again! Welcome to Meteorological Winter!

Let's take a quick look how we did this past fall.  Check out the global temperatures departure from normal for Meteorological Fall (Sep,Oct, Nov)

It has been a crazy fall this year for us, from dropping almost 60 degrees in one day to seeing one of the earliest dates of measurable snowfall! Oklahoma sure is living up to it's name!

Taking a look at Tulsa, here's some more local stats:

2014 FALL AVERAGE MONTHLY TEMPERATURE FOR TULSA 

September: 73.8 Degrees
October: 63.5 Degrees *18th warmest on record
November: 45.1 Degrees *11th coldest on record

2014 AVERAGE MONTHLY PRECIPITATION FOR TULSA

September: 2.19" 

October: 4.82" *35th wettest on record

November: 2.10" 

Pretty drastic swings from one month to the next! Will this trend continue? Let's take a look at the December Outlooks from the Climate Prediction Center:

November was the 11th coldest, and current projections suggest December will be on the warm side. How much warmer? Time will tell. SO, the trend of crazy flip flops continue!
